櫻花上的一對璧人，是天皇和皇后的造形，相擁而立。

3月3日，是日本傳統的女兒節ひなまつり雛祭り。

女兒節又名桃花節，桃樹有驅邪的象徵，每年人們都會把整套豪華的娃娃拿出來擺設，以祝福女孩們健康成長及祈求良緣。傳統的擺設十分講究，最高一層是天皇和皇后，第二層是三個宮女，第三層是五個樂師，第四層是三個壯丁，第五層是嫁妝和車馬財物等等。
